THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GROSS UNIVERSE AND SUBTLE KNOWLEDGE
The Universe is unreal. Knowledge only is real. We have heard it many times in various forms. Still, even to the learned people, the universe appears as quite real indeed ! Bite a stone or Pinch yourself if n doubt ! Very very few get the 'complete' knowledge which made them proclaim that the universe is not real but the knowledge is real. Are these 'enlightened' divine souls forming a syndicate to fool the rest ! Because to most of us the universe is very much real. Knowledge is useful. But the reality of the universe is not challenged by the available knowledge.
Needs to understand the answer clearly
Knowledge is the seed. The Universe is the tree. The seed transformed into the tree. Knowledge entered into Maya to form the visible universe. Once the seed becomes the tree, there is no answer to the question where is the seed. The seed became the tree. The knowledge is the universe. If we seek knowledge in the universe, the same is the fate. Complete knowledge will not be got. But most of the knowledge can be got. Just one (small) knowledge is hidden. To live, the available knowledge is sufficient for most. But knowledge is still more. Do not forget that.
The challenge before human beings is how complete his knowledge can be from this universe. How much we understand or acquire as knowledge, that much will be clear. That much part of the wholesome universe will become subtle as knowledge and dissolve in mind. Only the rest of the universe will remain as wholesome, remains to be understood. For example suppose we are seeing a stone for the first time. Initially, the stone is hard, heavy has a shape and size etc to the observer. Imagine we start befriending the stone play with it and learn a lot from it. Once this 'knowledge' about the stone is digested, the stone loses the shape in the mind. It gets stored as a quantum of knowledge ! Thereafter we do not stare at the stones as if we do not know it at all. The 'real' stone has now become an 'unreal' knowledge. in mind.
Extend the same procedure for the whole universe. Sooner or later. the whole universe will become quanta of knowledge and dissolve in the mind. When this knowledge process is complete, the universe is no more real to the one who knows everything . To him, the knowledge is actually real ! Not the wholesome universe. The stone is not real. But the knowledge about the stone is actually real. The universe may end in future. the knowledge does not. The consciousness stores all knowledge as awareness and remains alive at all times.Thus the complete knowledge about this universe is always available to the creator at all times. So God remains as pure knowledge. Humans get only a part of this complete knowledge, just enough to go through life. But if he seeks, the complete knowledge is available to him. There is no hindrance. Except one's own lack of desire to earn knowledge and understand the universe as much as possible.
Thus those who do not understand, needs to learn the remaining knowledge from the learned. This is education. Those who ignore this but decide to spend time on sensory pleasures, or wealth accumulation also will get knowledge about the areas they indulge in. The punishment for not getting the complete knowledge is death ! The universe will sit on the loser's chest as tomb, a token of failure to understand the whole in given time ! That is why Gurus urge us to learn as much as possible and keep the mind open. Those who get knowledge reach the abode of knowledge itself and reach in heavenly peace and silence for ever. Those who fail to get knowledge continue living life, birth after birth.
Those who do strive for knowledge, but do not get it while alive will continue the search in the next birth from where he stopped in the last. So search of knowledge is never going waste. Those who ignore knowledge and embrace the whole may acquire wealth and thus become respectable among those who follow that path. Common sense goes for some knowledge and some wealth too. Is there anything wrong? If not others will occupy what they have in mind. So there is no other way than to compete. The bottom line is one is ultimately responsible and accountable to whatever one does here. Responsible living. No hell fir or Satan. But one will have to pay for each of the deeds he did. That is all. That is divine justice and teaching a lesson too in the process.
So the Universe is before us. To convert this phantom into a small bottle called the mind is the challenge or game. Those who realise it completely are called enlightened. Those who don't die out. Get reborn and continue the learning. While learning they get distracted into pleasures and the knowledge acquisition gets a back seat. When all the universe is understood, the whole universe simply becomes some ideas or quanta of knowledge. When the whole universe is transformed into formless knowledge which is stored in no space, the game of life is complete.
Some may think ! Oh ! It is not possible for me to pursue all knowledge when all this fun is alive and before the eyes. So most resort to enjoyments. The mind gets corrupt with emotions and limitations. The bigger issue is that there is no guarantee that a human body will be got in the next birth. One may fall to lower levels like a dog, donkey or even cock roach or a pig. That is the problem of making merry and hurting others while in human form. So be careful in whatever you do. Only one out of a hundred may follow this path.
