KRISHNA IDOL WITH BLUE BODY AND FOUR HANDS !

Krishna means the one who attracts,. The soul attracts everything else to itself. The body of Krishna is blue which indicates the sky or space which is blue in colour. In other words, the body of the soul is the space. God manifested in a visible form in space (and time) which is the universe.

Also Krishna (Rather Vishnu, the underlying invisible form) has four hands. Representing the Agni (Energy), Vayu (Air), Water and Earth (Matter). Hands means tools, like spanner or pliers or hammer or screw driver.

Thus in the blue coloured infinite space, with the help of the four tools, the universe is made. This is the meaning of the blue bodied Vishnu with four hands. In temples, when we see this statue, remember the universe in space as God's expressed form in time. Then we understand the Krishna vigraham (idol).

Vi graham means Vi sheshena grahi kkendathu. To be understood carefully. Do not pray to the idol in the temples and beg like slaves to save or help us, as the priests may guide. Instead be confident (not egoistic, mind you) that all the powers required to face the world are inherent in us. We only have to develop and invoke the inherent powers.

A caveat though. It is easy to slip into ego (that I am doing all this). Once that feeling sets in, the count down to death begins. Remember the bible saying "It is not on your merits. But in his grace". Surrender the ego to the supreme ego which acts through every being. Then life becomes a dream.
