Bhagavad
Gita
Many
may have seen the picture of a chariot with the Hindu God Krishna holding
the horses and Arjun, the warrior prince collapsed on the deck. This is the
picturisation on the cover page of Bhagavad-Gita, the Bible and Quran of Hindus.
Does this picture mean any sensible message as per 'Hindu Hieroglyphics'?
Sometimes there are five horses in the picture. Sometimes only four. But all
white and strong. Well ornamented and looked after. Horse lovers like Vijay
Mallya and even Hasan Ali Khan might be proud to have a few of them to race at
Mahalaxmi race course !
What does this picture mean? Or does it mean anything after all?
Or is it just that Krishna, the (weird, naughty and even crazy) God concept of
the (abominable) Hindus,
who advised his human friend Arjun to kill his teacher and relatives
(including grand father !) and he
naturally collapsed at the prospect ? Some God these crazy Hindus has found to
worship !
We are quite comfortable with an all powerful all knowing God sitting up in the
sky. But that God is so kind and majestic that he would shudder to think of
advising someone to kill his own guru and grandfather rather than his enemies !
He might not hesitate to punish those who dont believe in him any way . But
that is understandable ! But no sensible God can advise someone to kill own
teacher, friends and relatives.
Hindu God however, advises to kill friends and relatives but simultaneously
loves cows Ha ha !!
These Hindus along with their Gods must be crazy !
Tell us more about your God, dear Hindus so that we can have a hearty laugh at
your ignorance.
Coming back to the picture of Chariot, Horses, Charioteer Krishna and the
fighter Arjun.
To understand this one just has to listen....carefully...
The chariot actually represents human body. The two wheels are the two legs.
(That is OK. Even we call the females thighs as tyres. Go ahead, dear Hindu. I
cant wait to laugh. By the way where are the hands, Head and some very
important other parts, then?),
The horses represent the five senses.
Arjun, the warrior prince represents the human mind.
Krishna is the intellect reflecting in the Mind (Arjun).
Understood?
Case closed.
That all I wanted to say. Good bye !
Now wait a minute.
If the senses are five, why some pictures show only four horses?
Answer:- This question is from the intellect. If you are a Hindu and did not have this question, then
the intellect is not present in you. In short you are a jackass. But dont worry
you have company.
The five senses are:
1). Eyes (To see)
2). Nose (To smell)
3). Ears (To hear)
4).Tongue (To taste) and
5). The skin (To Spa… I mean to touch).
Now the tongue, being a skin by itself, is sometimes bracketed with the skin
sense resulting in just four horses. It is easier to draw a horse less.
The horses are white. Means the senses by it are pure and uncorrupted. The
horses are strong. You know the strength of the senses especially when young. No
spectacle or hearing aid required.
Think of tasty food - the tongue sense gets active. That horse (tongue sense)
would drag the body (Chariot) to the fridge, Kitchen or the favourite restaurant !
Think of a good looking film actor and the eyes want to see him / her NOW ! But
that actor is busy or swarmed by similar eye balls and cant be accessed. The
Intellect decides that lets see a movie for now which the actor performed. So
the chariot (body) driven by the eye sense horse drags the body not to the
actor's house but to the movie hall.
Now closely watch this whole action in slow motion !
The eye (horse) wants to see an actor (an object). The mind urges the the body
chariot to move towards the destination (actor's house). The intellect reflects
in the mind, and indicate the possibilities (Actor may not be accessible). So it
takes control of the eye horse and directs the body to the movie hall instead.
After seeing the object it wanted to see, the mind is temporarily satisfied. It
lets go off the eye horse to rest.
See the presence of intellect here, which cant literally be seen, as it is no
object. What is intellect? It is actually the reflection of the soul
(consciousness) in mind. That is the closest one can normally get to know of the
consciousness (also called the soul) in everyday life. When one experiences the
intellect, one does not feel time bound or tired or unhappy. Next time your
intellect is active watch it very closely. Try to catch it ! You cant. Because
it is just a light like presence in the dark areas of the mind. Physical light
can be seen. Intellect acts in the mind and can be FELT.
By the way what is mind ?
Another good question. Again from the intellect only. This is a question the Indian Rishis asked themselves 5000 years ago. Intellect is not related
to the brain as modern science claims. Brain is only a control station for the
body to act and react to the situations according to the so called pre-recorded
animal instincts. Mind is always fluctuating and is not a material like the
brain. It emanates from the consciousness (located at the right chest) and ends
at the spot between the eyes. Hindus cool this area by sandalwood paste.
Now to keep the intellect a daily experience, we can engage it in new things or
change the (boring) routines. Immediately the intellect would show its presence,
understand the new things, adjust to the situation, guide and oversee the
proceedings all at one go. If not awakened, the intelligence does not reflect in
mind and
the victims may lead clumsy life of the animals by reacting only to
the instincts. (By the way these adjectives like clumsy etc are donated by humans and has no relation to the animals. They actually live a majestic life if you care to note. Only the human mind makes the baseless discriminations for day to day life)
Intelligence is not essential for animal life. They live by instincts embedded in their system.
If the intellect did not control the eye horse, the chariot would have been
dragged along, gone off the path and could even have crashed (died / accident).
So allow Krishna or the intellect to control the sense horses of the body
chariot of us to save the body until its allotted time ! God does not want the
body to crash in accidents because of external lures, even as it does not
prohibit enjoying the pleasures in a disciplined way without hurting others..
Similar advises can be seen in other religions also. Surrender yourself to God
and let the God act through you. This is the essence of all religions.
Actually even if you don’t surrender the God acts through you. You think falsely that it is all your merit. It is simply on God’s grace. God is your life energy. It only makes you breathe. It made the body. You are the custodian of the body for a limited period. If you were given the freedom to breathe all by yourself, you cannot sleep at all ! So God, the infinite consciousness and energy, does even breathing for you.
Similarly the smelling horse (The destination of Body Chariot can be flowers for
example).
The hearing horse (The destination can be a music concert).
The touching Horse (The destination can be spa / massage parlour).
All the five senses are always active in a healthy human being (other living
things also) and may pull the body chariot to different destinations /
directions. Arjun the mind may feel weak and collapse. Krishna the intellect
takes control of the body chariot by controlling the senses for a safe path
to realise the sensory pleasures (and beyond, which we dont know as of now).
That was not very difficult to understand, I guess.
Have you seen some body (chariot) lying at the roadside upside down with the
legs (wheels) above or in other directions spinning / kicking? Alcohol and drugs make the
intellect lose control over the senses and the body chariot. Without intellect in
place, the body chariot will not be in control. The sense horses might drag the
body chariot until the senses also fail (body become unconscious). The mind cannot be unconscious as it emanates from consciousness itself. The awareness of the mind about the body gets disconnected during unconsciousness. Ask a person what he felt during his unconsciousness? He might remember some lights or moving images. If he was totally unconscious, then how could he experience the mind during those times ?
When you don’t feel well, the wife advises to remain at home and lie
down on bed.
Or even drink at home ! An upturned chariot (husband at the gutter with the vomit remains decorating his face may not be an inspiring sight for the
self respecting ladies !

self respecting ladies !
Even
that is understandable, I mean finding the hubby chariot at the gutter ! But if
the chariot (the husband) proceeds to venture into other female chariots or get
knocked by the policemen chariots, the scar remains much longer in the society
chariots’ minds, which the wives are quite aware of !
Never knew so much about my own sense horses and chariot before than my wife !
In Mahabharata, Arjun, the mind collapsed when Krishna (the intellect) advised
him to eliminate the enemies who happened to be none other than Arjun's dear
ones ! Why did Krishna advise Arjun to fight and kill the relatives? Call for
Hindu Jihad ?!
Understand first.
Krishna is not a God located up in the sky. It is the life giving source very much within you, me and everybody else. Every…body !
In this context Krishna represents the human intellect which is nothing but the
reflection of the consciousness (soul - also called the God ) within to the mind.
Arjun is the mind.
The Intellect thus tells the mind to kill the relatives.
Relatives of Arjun, the mind.
Who can be the relatives of mind?
Listen carefully. You are nearing the truth about Hindu mythology.
The relatives of Arjun, the mind, simply cant be real people with flesh and
blood. Because Arjun, the mind, is not a real warrior either. These are just
picturisations to tell a story or clarify a point, the Hindu hieroglyphics way.
If Arjun simply represents the human mind, who can be the relatives of human
mind to start with ?
Attachments, desires and feelings are the relatives of mind.
The intellect (Krishna) tells the mind (Arjun) -
KILL THESE RELATIVES OF YOURS !
Translated, it means "remove the attachments, desires and feelings in your mind".
Means consciously and purposefully remove all these related issues from your mind !
(What
for? I am far more comfortable with the present set up ! Yeah ! More food, more
wine, more beautiful women… That is called good life you know Mr. soul searcher
!)
But that state is not ever lasting. It would change sooner or later. Tomorrow
you are old. Day after you are no more. During this lifetime, there is a better
thing to strive for than giving in to the mind to chase only the sensory fun until the chariot gets worn out of all the running around ! That is called
spirituality. Until one is mature enough, one may not even know of this aspect
of life exist ! It is like trying to explain orgasm to a child. However much the adult explain, the child may understand it as some great pleasure like an island full of balloons, chocolates, rides and no school Until the child crows up and experiences the orgasm, he may not feel anything any better than a set of colour balloons ! Spirituality shall not be discussed with those who have not reached that stage as it may change their normal peaceful way of life. Human mind can actually transcend death and reach ever lasting peace and
happiness even after the body dies. Some religions term it as paradise in heaven and living eternal life with the kind father.
(No thanks ! I would rather live like there is no tomorrow and enjoy all the pleasures in
life before I die ! To hell with spirituality. I prefer spirit over spirituality. The body, mind and soul theory is rubbish ! I am my body, mind and….. what was that again ? That god damn soul ! Spirit does far more wonders than spirituality !)
Freeing the mind is required to be in peaceful harmony with the intellect. And
then beyond. Merge the mind with the soul leaving the mortal body and relations
attached to the body and dissolving into eternal timeless consciousness bliss
called God. Arjun, the mind, can become one with the intellect and then dissolve into the consciousness (soul) for eternal freedom, peace and happiness. Thus instead of madly running after the lures in the sensory world for pleasure, which
are fleeting (means time and space bound or limited) pleasures to the body and mind, there is a far more intense and
real experience that is lost when the mind is trapped in material desires. Look
at this in another angle. The creator is eternal. The universe is a
manifestation of this infinite eternity in time. Hence to the eternity, this
universe and time are just another episode like in an unending Indian TV serial. Countless universes might have come
and gone. May come again even after this universe plays out its prescribed mission. Unless you realise the truth about your self, the life
is as good as wasted, even as one tries to convince himself that he really lived his life… money…women….career….wealth…friends…. fame… fans !
Need to understand the mind better and remove the spots and knots in mind intelligently.
Then the mind would slowly free itself from the bondages. A pure (thought free)
mind is what the God has. Our minds are born from it and is plastered with
different shades (likes and dislikes). Because of this we cant see anything else than what is in our own mind. When we see a tree for the first time, it creates an impression in our mind. When we think of that tree, we don’t need go to the tree and look at it again next time. “You” “look” at the “image” in “your” “mind” on that “tree”. “You’ are not “really”
”seeing” the “tree” but only “knowing” the ‘impression” in ‘mind’ about that “tree”. A trader may only see how much it
would fetch if felled. A boat builder may see it as parts of a new boat he has
in mind. A bird might see it as its restaurant, park and home ! A child may see it as a shade under which he can play. The owner might see it as a source of income by selling its fruits. A fruit merchant may see only the money he can make by buying the entire fruits by even swindling the lawful owner by reporting low demand.
But that state is not ever lasting. It would change sooner or later. Tomorrow

A fruit merchant may see only the money he can make by buying the entire fruits by even swindling the lawful owner by reporting low demand.
The
tree remains the same selfless entity proud and tall ! To others it appears in
different ways, depending on the way one looks at it or the way one’s mind
forms impressions about it based on the instincts, likes and dislikes in the
very mind.
A mind can become free and then dissolve into the consciousness (soul). A mind having no desires (like the divinely smiling kids possess) experiences the soul within. Because when the mind is free it sees nothing outward. The inner consciousness, which
so far appeared to be a far off vague feeling, becomes louder and intense as the
mind becomes more and more detached from the objects in this world. Once the
attachments in the mind are completely removed (by practice or by events of
life) the mind would start feeling the consciousness more real than the rock mountain in front of you ! Once fully free, the mind
vibrates like a dew drop at the lotus leaf. Not connected to the leaf but
touching the leaf all the same ! You can literally hear the pin drop at this
state. It becomes a magnifying glass and shows objects and people intrinsically
how they are rather than attaching a colour to the objects as your own. When
there are desires and attachments, the world appears from obscurity and might look
attractive to the senses. This attraction is actually in the mind and is deceptive and even
dangerous if you are not careful. The real pleasure is at the soul, which we
cant find unless knowingly and vigorously sought after.
The mind after transcending from a muddy pond (where one cant see the bottom) to a clear pond (where the bottom can be seen) and then to a
single crystal clear drop, would dissolve into the consciousness if there is no
further attraction which might pull it back to the world to have another life to
fulfill the pending desire. The desires keep on forming, like bubbles from the bottom of a pond, and when it takes shape a
body is required for the mind to enter. Thus rebirths take place. The cycle of
births and rebirths happen until the intellect realises the folly of chasing
pleasure externally whereas the real absolute pleasure and love is at the soul
itself.
This is a realisation. Self realisation. Once this realisation comes, your mind
becomes blessed and free. You feel happy for ever for everything and not just for sometime for something. One
actually has to transcend the time to reach the soul. Hence it is everlasting
peace and happiness.
(Heard this somewhere ! However let me chase my dear desires for now ! See you
later, dude, peace)
We do not know much about this so called soul as of now. Modern science rubbishes
this concept. But the learned Rishis say repeatedly in one voice that the soul
is very much there at the other end of the mind and it only is there, it is all consciousness, formless, self contained, all knowledge, beyond death and time and infinitely powerful. It is the creator of this universe. It has ‘Maya’ as its associated power with which the creation is
made. For what ?
Just for fun !
The universe with its billions of stars and infinite space... the sun the moon
the earth the stars....the oceans …the atmosphere….the thriving life on earth... the beautiful people and
trees and animals.... the human mind body and intellect... the ultimate
engineering mind boggling master piece....the universe.... is created just for
fun !?
By our standards, either the creator has to be well and truly out of his mind
for making such an expensive toy called the universe and break it up after some
time. The God is reportedly of very short temper by some
really wise bearded guys and is looking for women who expose their body in public ! As if the creator has no other business than admonishing the scantily dressed women whom he created without any dress. However, given a chance. I would have used the
resources far better than God and made just, for example, a single sun and one earth and
may be a moon to add romance to it. May be a few stars to make the sky glitter at night for the
children to chant twinkle twinkle ! That would have been far cheaper than this
sheer mammoth
scale of creation ! I would further surely not waste so much building materials to
make all those billions of stars and so many lifeless planets, some thousands of
times bigger than earth itself but without water and air ! What a thoughtless waste. The God may need some human intelligence to
use the resources in a more meaningful way? I would have made the earth with
out the oceans between the continents which makes sea travel mandatory. Imagine
all continents land connected. We could technically walk all around the earth ! Let the oceans remain there but leave the continents as connected. One problem of that could be that the mightiest race would have occupied the whole earth and eliminated every other race. One religion and its rituals would have evolved. For the better or worse. Who knows such a creation was not made earlier?
Also who says that the universe was created just for fun?
Is it not made to trumpet himself and get applause from the created lives, like a monopolist businessman or a dictator ?
Long live God ! you are the greatest.
It is made to punish the human beings who do not believe in God. Such a
fabulous creator can be so mean ? Do you brow beat your child to keep
praising the parents for giving birth or expect a kiss? Or beat the child black
and blue for not praising you enough as its creator so that your ego is
satisfied?
My God ! Some people claiming ownership / guardianship / custodianship on you as
if you are a weak child who needs protection ! God save the custodians of God
trying to save the God ! The custodians are actually using the faith in God as a
facade or cover up for chasing their own desires and making others subordinates to exploit.
Dear custodians of God ! Do you really think God is as stupid as you think?
Even the God cant save these wise guys. What do these people think of God? Their
idea about God lies in their own minds. God lies underneath the very minds. How can we measure an ocean with a bucket? Logically the God, being so powerful
and knowledgeable, should be capable of taking care of itself. The custodians may
please lay off so that the God can breathe from their clutches and smile !
The smile of God is called the flowers. This universe is his laughter.
So dont be afraid of the creator in any way. There is no reason to be afraid of
God. He is your closest friend. Even if your mother leaves you, God will not !
God is not simply to be afraid of or even believed in !
On the contrary the God concept is to be properly understood.
God will not disclose itself if you keep loitering in the temples and offering
poojas and money to happen things to your liking. It is to be sought within and
realised within. It is the ultimate solace of mind. The mind is the tool with
which the God is to be realised. One end of the mind is at our physical bodies linking
the senses to a consciousness within at the other end. THAT consciousness simply is the God.
We know about consciousness. To most it is a distant feeling or awareness like a
far off galaxy. We can travel to this consciousness through the mind. That
journey is called Ramayan. Rama = soul (consciousness). Ayan = the journey.
After killing one's friends and relatives how on earth can anyone be peaceful?
The intellect is again asking questions. Try to understand. Hinduism welcomes such questions. In fact it urges you not to accept anything without questioning. All Upanishads are in the form of debates. The God's (soul,
consciousness) reflection in your mind (intellect) wants logical answers and not
some blind faith on some wholesome creator living far off with a stick in his hand to teach a lesson to erring humans. Killing an animal for food is acceptable to that god but it cant stand a woman who is no properly dressed ! Some God concept the male chauvinists imagine for fulfilling their own weird desires ! God loves only the intelligent ones, even the one asks who the hell
God is ! But not the one who pray for mercy, chant "God, God " round the clock and hurt others
to realise his demonic desires. They simply forget that the same God only created
other people (even if you do not like their looks and attitude) and shown the way to him
through a few intermediaries like Prophets, saints and selfless people.
God simply keeps away from those who treat it as a Master and separate from the
seeker. God cannot hate or punish the "Save me...punish my enemy" chanting slave
devotee as God is pure love. Its maximum punishment is staying unknown to
the selfish worshipper and making him feel separate from God itself ! One would
know how much miserable the separated life from God is only when you, by chance
or by wilful deeds come to know about it. Fear and hate is the distance that the
worshipper, knowingly or not, creates between himself and God ! Such worshippers
go through lives of pleasure and pain and think God is responsible for the roller coaster life.
No. He himself is. In fact his mind is. He has not understood what God is, where it is and how to
reach it !
Instead he claims custodianship of a God he created in his mind !
Case closed !
Can you believe this?!
Coming back to Arjun (mind) being advised by Krishna (intellect) to kill. Kill
whom? Or removing what?
In Mahabharata, the mental feelings are characterised by human characters (as a
usual practice in Hindu scriptures to clarify a lesson)
For example:
Shakuni is Arjun's uncle. The Shakuni character actually represents cunningness / treachery
of mind. In Mahabharata, Shakuni uses black magic to make Dharmaputra (the prince of righteousness) lose
the game and hence his kingdom. Such tendency of mind to use unfair means to
satisfy a desire is to be nipped in the bud.
Krishna, the intellect advises Arjun, the mind.
"KILL Shakuni"
Means eliminate the tendency of treachery and cunningness from mind, even if it
appears to give you short term visible gains. In the long run, such gains might
turn out to be heavy burdens and remain a drag in mind.
Arjun, the mind, is agitated ! It whimpers. Shakuni uncle was always like that. How can I kill my uncle even
if he is bad ? After all he is my uncle, you know ! Krishna, the intellect knows
better. It has seen all these drama in human minds umpteen times. Human life is
the unending movie that Krishna watches with amusement from his abode at
paradise! With lotus eyes meaning eyes which are not attached to the sight, the world. Krishna knows the problem of keeping the Shakuni tendency in mind. It
would lead the mind into vicious circles and sins.
So Krishna smiles (because he knows the treachery of minds) at Arjun (who does not know treachery as itself but as his inseparable relative) and advises
him to get rid of Shakuni (the tendency of mind to create traps for unsuspecting
innocents).
I know you agree to this call from intellect to mind for killing a stinking
habit !
OK. Shakuni can be disposed off. Keeping that tendency creates tension, spoils relations and hurt others at the very least.

OK. Shakuni can be disposed off. Keeping that tendency creates tension, spoils relations and hurt others at the very least.
Arjun
the mind listens to Krishna, the intellect,
and nods in agreement to finish off Shakuni uncle.
Who is the next in the list to bump off?
Dussasan ! Arjun’s cousin ! The one who disrobed Arjun's wife Panchali in public. The tendency of mind to
do atrocities to women ! Arjun is more than happy to kill him !
In short eliminate the Chauvinist tendency of mind.
OK. Dussasan can also be killed. If not killed, the chauvinism would hurt women and make her a slave. Krishna has scored two out of two.
Who is next? This is the assassination session ! Bring them on !
Duryodhan ! The crown prince. Arjun’s co-brother.
The one who refused even a pin point area of land to Arjun, misused his wealth and powers as crown prince and did much harm to others.
The tendency of claiming ownership on
possessed property and uses muscle power and unfair means to get one's way by
hurting others. The tendency of mind to turn down the rights of others.
For argument sake lets admit that this tendency of mind can be eliminated being
bad in nature.
(If you go by the story of Mahabharata, one would find enough reason to support
everyone (except Krishna !). Thus from the Duryodhan's point of view, the
Pandavas are illegitimate children of his father's brother's wife. Not even the
children of his father's brother, and thus having no right to the crown. But
that is another story and is at best debatable. There is no time for that debate
now. If you are inclined to debate, you are free to do so. Wake me up when you are, I mean have, finished).
Krishna has nothing to debate or review and advises Arjun to kill Duryodhan, his
co-brother.
OK. Arjun, the mind, is getting bolder on getting power from the intellect to bump off his uncle, cousin and co-brother.
who
is next...
Dritarashtra, Arjun's father's brother, equivalent to his own father. He is old
and blind ! Arjun, the mind fails. Cant think of killing father’s brother, whatever the intellect might say !
Dhrita means 'to embrace'.
Rashtra means 'Land' / ‘property’.
Arjun is the same old Arjun- the mind.
So one tendency (or relative) of mind is to grab land.
As much as possible !
That is perfectly understandable to us. Even I would like to grab a golf course
to start with !
Sky is the limit to grab.
Sky, fortunately for others, can’t be grabbed. (Try this at home terrace when
none is around ! ).
Similarly water also cant be grabbed. Only hard objects can be grabbed and held
to bosom.
Just for some time, mind you. Thereafter, you have to let go off it. When you sleep you
let go off all your belongings. When you die you lose them for ever.
Is there a way to absorb gold and jewels into the mind? If there is we all would
have golden minds glittering with jewels having absorbed them at first sight !
Do you have this tendency to grab property or amass wealth?
Absolutely not !
Then you mind is free from the possession syndrome.
Wait a minute. May be I have. Just a little bit.
The seed of the sprawling banyan tree is as small as a sesame seed.
This is the Dhrita Rashtra character within you, in your mind to be precise ! It is very strong but BLIND.
When this tendency takes over your mind, you cant see others or anything around
!
And you thought the land grabbing tendency (Dhritarashtra) existed only in
Mahabharata, the ancient book of abominable Hindus?
Even now it is very much inside you as long as the life lasts. For your solace,
it is in others also ! Especially with Indian politicians.
Mahabharata discloses the tendencies of human mind. After a million years, the
minds would behave just the same, unless corrected and understood.
Whew ! I am not alone pregnant with a monster in my mind ! Now what to do with
the tendency of mind to embrace land?
What to do with a blind aging brother of one’s father?
Krishna has no doubts as always. He smiles and advises Arjun in a soothing
voice.
"KILL HIM" !
Krishna, the smiling assassin ! Intellect to mind.
"Kill the tendency of mind to grab property" is one of the advises that Krishna,
the intellect gives to Arjun the mind ! If the intellect is not present then
Arjun would allow the tendency to continue means Arjun would become an ordinary
land owner like you and me, put a boundary wall wire fence on top,
keep watchdogs, a retired soldier as security with a bullet less gun and a board
saying "Trespassers will be prosecuted"!
Why should we get rid off this tendency of mind to grab property? Isn't it more
reasonable to have some land / property for ourselves for worriless living and
handing over to the next generation? Makes sense to buy land
than kill the urge to buy land. Correct me if wrong ! If we don’t acquire or own
land, then where would we stay? In the street? Without passport in foreign
countries would land up in jail in most countries except India, the free land
for all (those who look like Indians).
Acquire wealth by fair means for a healthy decent life. Shubh labh ! Protect it
and look after it.
But just remove the 'attachment' knot that is in your mind to that land. Don’t think
that you own the land for eternity. You have taken custody for a short time (on
behalf of everybody else) to enjoy it, maintain, improve and hand over to the
future generations in a better status. And don’t try to acquire more than what
you actually need. That tendency hurts others’ legitimate right to have some land for themselves ! Or go the communist way. The state owns all property. Until the leaders transform into Dhritarashtra monsters, that is.
(Balls ! I would acquire as much land as I can and pass on to my own inheritors
who would live like Kings. I would initiate a legacy like the winners do).
Good Luck. And face all problems associated with it.
Lose sleep over it. Keep guards to keep trespassers (legitimate owners in another point of view) away.
OK. I'll have my fair share of land and look after it until I die and pass on
the developed land to the future generations to enjoy and love it.
That is much better. No problemo !
By the way the neighbour has claimed that your boundary wall is one inch inside
his. He proposes to either demolish by force or by legal action.
The problems of owning property ! Get rid off the tendency from mind. Protect land by all means. Just remove that ‘ownership’ notion in the mind.
OK. Dhritarashtra also can be eliminated.
By the way does the above discussed characters exist in our mind? We may be simple people and traces of all characters may be there. But the real life size ones can be found if you look around. Indian politicians, for example ! They could not kill the tendencies of their minds and instead have given way to the tendencies to flourish. Now the same tendencies consume them. Just wait and watch !

How
could these things be told 5000 years ago by some lonely skinny half starved
half naked Rishi mumbling under some tree in a forest with wild animals as
company? Don’t ask.
Now what are the other relatives of Arjun, the mind, apart from Dhrita Rashtra,
who are to be killed?
Drona, the teacher of Arjun ! The one who taught him archery and made him the
greatest warrior on earth. Arjun was his dearest disciple. Does Krishna want
Arjun to kill Drona too? You betcha ! This is unbelievable. So far the relatives
of Arjun were fundamentally bad and did hurt Arjun someway so that he could at
least think of killing them. But Drona is his dearest teacher who only wanted
Arjun to succeed as the greatest warrior on earth. How can Arjun think of killing Drona? Even if he makes up his
mind to kill Drona, being a party to the other eminently disposable relatives, Drona is not
a pushover or a sitting duck to get eliminated ! Drona is the Master of Archery from whom even Arjun learned
the skill. Can any disciple beat his Master in his subject?
Weird advise? To understand this we need to understand is what the character Drona stands
for.
Drona is indeed Arjun's teacher. But how he decided to make Arjun a world class
archer has a story of revenge behind it. It was not a selfless desire towards a disciple to succeed. Parents of young Drona were very poor
who could not even give him a glass of milk. Other rich children made fun of
boy Drona by making him believe that a glass of water peppered with rice flour was
milk and he drank it. When others started laughing Drona was ashamed. When he
grew up, he studied with prince Drupad and became thick friends. When they grew
up Drona went to see his old friend who was now the king. The King refused to
accept him as an old friend. This made Drona seething with revenge. He taught
Arjun archery and asked him to capture his enemy, the King Drupad, which Arjun did. Now Drupad
wanted to take revenge on Drona. He prayed for a daughter (who can marry Arjun,
thus eliminating his threat) and a son who can win Drona. See how the revenge
goes !
Drona represents the tendency of mind to take revenge. This tendency is very
dangerous and needs to be eliminated. Krishna knows this and thus can advise Arjun with a smile. KILL YOUR TEAHER ! KILL THE REVENGE TENDENCY IN YOUR MIND !! REMOVE THE TENDENCY TO TAKE REVENGE !!!

That
is more understandable, I guess.
Arjun,
the mind, is heavily shaken and is almost at the brink of collapsing.
The next is Bhishma - the grandfather who remained a bachelor, who even
sacrificed his kingdom and married life to allow his father to marry a young
woman at his old age !
How can anyone even think of killing such a divine selfless character?
This one is too much. Agree a little with killing Drona and others. Those
tendencies are to be controlled for sure.
But kill Bhishma Pitamahan? Apart from being a loving grand father, Bhishma is
also a great warrior. He cannot be killed by anyone. He had even defeated an
incarnation of God named " Parashuram". Such is his skill on archery. In the
war, Bhishma had vowed to kill everyone except Arjun and his brothers, being his
grand children. Such a magnanimous heart. How can Arjun even think of killing
him?
Arjun, the mind collapses.
Krishna (the weird God of abominable Hindus) instigates Arjun.
"KILL BHISHMA, your grand father" !!
What does this mean?
If this is not madness, what is !
(One should not hurt own grandfather under any circumstance. Krishna or No
Krishna. I prefer other Gods who are more logical and understandable ! Thanks
for telling me the Hindu story. I expected a good laugh which unfortunately
never came Only some killing relatives. Yawn. Good Bye!)
Remember. There is no human beings in the story. All characters are tendencies (relatives)
of mind (Arjun).
Bhishma actually represents 'fear' in mind. One has to eliminate the tendency of
fear.
Nothing to be feared of than fear itself ! Heard that somewhere else. Never
really understood what it meant!
How does Bhishma represent fear?
He, as the crown prince, should have prevented his aging father from his
sudden desire to marry a young woman just young enough to be his son's wife.
Instead he inadvertently helped his father to chase hedonic desires and was
reason to cause a chain of events leading to misery for many.
Because he was afraid of something.
The advise from the Intellect to the mind is "Do not be afraid" of anything.
If your father does a similar thing, don’t be another Bhishma.
Just tell the old man to **** ***and take over the Kingdom (household in our
cases) from him. He cant run the kingdom like this anymore by running after
females in the neighbourhood !
This tendency of mind to fear also has to be eliminated !

This
is the advise of Krishna, the intellect to
Arjun, the mind.
The story has ended.
This is the essence of Bhagavad-Gita, the verses stated to have been made
directly by God aimed at purifying the mind and making it free from attachments.
There is no religion in this. Nothing to pray to or worship. The intellect
(Krishna) is the direct presence of soul (consciousness, the God) in mind. The mind (Arjun) is also
there in everyone. So the God is there in you. Only thing is that you don’t realise it. The mind has all those
tendencies. Eliminate these tendencies to free mind so that it can dissolve into
the consciousness and complete the journey.
Another Hindu Epic is Ramayan. Rama means soul. Ayan means journey. In
Mahabharata , the name given to the soul is Krishna literally meaning " the one
which attracts". You are free to name it "the spiritual magnet" or whatever you
are comfortable with. By naming it in another way, it does not change and seethe
with anger to take revenge for belittling it. God is so magnanimous that it may, just may (normally it may simply ignore as the distraction is minor) glance at the confused mind and smile with divine kindness and advise through the intellect to remove the ignorance and be at peace.
Because it knows you are an idiot (or if that is too harsh) at least an ignorant
child who needs guidance !
Dont worry about God. Dont fear God who himself advised Arjun to kill fear ! One
can love God like a baby to mother or like a beloved to the lovebirds. God would
never hurt you. After all you are his baby. God is the ultimate father (or
mother) one can imagine. Just be aware that God is there in all living things
and hence treat others with a little more love, respect and compassion, if you
dont mind.
If you notice carefully, no idol worship is prescribed either in Ramayan or
Mahabharata. No religion is preached either. While Ramayan talks about removing the tendency of blindly indulging
in sensory pleasures, Mahabharata talks about removing the bad tendencies of
one's own mind. This is Hinduism. There is no, absolutely no, religion in this. It does not want
anyone to believe something or have faith in something. It only tells you to
look internally into your own mind and not just at the outside world.
Do you get the difference of Hinduism and other religions now ? Hinduism is a way of life. Religions are religions whatever that means.
Dont pray to any idol or some imaginary God separate from you. You are not here
to consume everything and amass properties. These are false tendencies of mind
which you think would give pleasure. The real pleasure and peace is at the
bottom of the mind. Hinduism urges you to take a journey to the bottom of your
mind and "understand" (literally ‘stand under’) it ! There is no harm in doing this. No rituals are
required. No donations required at the temple for the priests to make a fast buck. There is an astonishing truth
about yourself if you care to ask yourself " Who am I or rather " What am I ".
The moment you ask this question, your journey to the soul begins. You may not
fully succeed or reach the destination in this life. This is because the journey is to be made through the mind which is full of desires and tendencies and attachments. A truly India Pakistan border with land mines ! But your life does not end here either. Your mission is to reach the consciousness. Until you reach consciousness, your life has to continue. That is how this wonderful game called life is designed by the true master. So don’t hesitate to enjoy your food or love your near and dear ones. Try to extend that love to others and to the entire world. This is possible. Your next life, depending on the remains in your mind at the end of current life, would be in a continuous platform and
you would be continuing the journey from where you ended before death.
If you never ask this question, then there is no harm either. You would be
experiencing life and enjoying sensory pleasures like everyone else. But
remember, The animals also never asked this question. It is up to you to draw
standards and place yourself.
Always try to do better than last time. Try not to hate others even if you cant
accept their ways. Keep improving and one day you may sit down and ask " Who am
I"
Dont worry, Ramayan and Mahabharata are there to answer your doubts there. Until then
listen to the rest at your own risk. A child may not understand what orgasm is even if an adult tries to explain. The child has to become mature to experience it.
Take heart ! Most Hindus themselves do not now the meaning of their own holy books ! They may understand other holy books even better ! Some think
that loitering around the temple and going round and round the idols,
offering poojas and bribing the priest would make their lives better. Krishna's
message is very clear. One suffers in life due to the incorrect identification of oneself with the body.

Identify
oneself with the soul and your worries in mind would turn out
to be no more real than dreams. Life is a 4 dimensional game created by God, in a way that he only can do, just
to pass time, for fun and may be even for self cleaning (refreshing oneself).
There is no more seriousness to be attached with life. Live life the Sanathan
Dharma way by taking care of parents and children, respecting others who also
have a right to live and in no way hurting others.
These lessons and books were there in India since five thousand years. These can
be easily grasped by children whose minds are uncorrupted. Only thing is that
they should be taught the great lessons before they develop into great rats in the race.
