FROM ANIMAL TO DIVINE THROUGH THE GRAVITY OF KARMA CYCLE

For animals, there is no escape from the Instinct guided Karma Chakra (cycle). If a mouse runs across, the cat will instinctively catch it. The cat may not think for example"Karthum Vaa Akarthum vaa ya Anydhaa karthum vaa" ! (Catch the moue, leave the mouse or do something else" is never a dilemma for the cat. But in human level, the situation is different. Here, another dimension called freedom of choice is possible because of the mind. Hence, a human can, for example, rewrite his own fate (instincts or samskara (culture) driven action). This makes the difference between animals and human beings.

We can see that even among human beings, most live within the animal instincts only. What appears as "deep thoughts" or 'well thought out decisions' actually turn out to be instinct driven indulgences ! Thus most humans actually live in the animal level, even though they think they are living like kings.

Just introspect how much animal or human or divine is within ourselves.

The crossroad to divinity is through intelligent heartfelt discrimination (Vivekam). When humans reach the level of humans (that is clearly above above the animal level of instinctive life) this choice will be clearly available to them. There also they will be influenced by many factors to take the possible decisions. Lives change according to these conscious decisions.

For example, others who are attached to the individual will influence the decision making. The personal likes will influence. The pending desires will affect. The circumstances may affect. The neighbors may affect. Even the strangers may affect. If nothing affects, the fear of the unknown may affect ! Further, as the individual rises in spiritual level, those which appeared desirable at some point of growth may now appear as undesirable. Thus asking for a review.

This can create tense situations and sharp decisions. Any decision will either lead to that life or another decision making situation. Any decision to leave life will appear as naturally stupid or simply madness in the eyes of the experienced relatives and friends around (read gravity). Hence most end up opting for better life than the uncertain dry solitude of a yogi, whom others rate as "patently mad' but hide the opinion in a smile due to the force of civilized life. But all humans have to necessarily cross all these challenges (in some form) to reach the ultimate pure state of existence of all beings.
