PROPHETS
It is a shallow Western philosophy that God reigns up in the sky outside the Universe and some people claiming themselves as God's prophets.
Indian philosophy is far more deep. The God concept itself is different. In Indian Philosophy. There is no God 'separate' from you. Your core is actually God Consciousness. You are unable to see it because your mind and the world is imposed over the true core. Thus the core gets hidden and only the visual Universe appears before you through the mind which most think is real. It is not. The Universe is just a superimposition, a manifestation of the core consciousness. That is referred to as Krishna consciousness.
Some people are able to go inside themselves and get insights. That is the evidence that there is some sight inside and not outside. Thus Jesus or Mohammed are people who were able to get some insights which they thought was from God. It was actually their own insights. As the people in the west were not competent to know this state, as there was no clear idea about the insights or how it happens, the ordinary people referred to those with insights as "prophets'.
Actually these "Prophets' are also ordinary people who get some insights when they are free from ego and desires. That is the requirement to get insights. Ego lessness and a desire free mind. With these qualifications, anyone can get insights. That is no big deal.
In fact the readers of this passage also can have insights. Just remain free and without ego in solitude. Close the eyes and sit alone in silence. Watch the results.
Buddha for example realized his self within far better than Jesus or Mohammed. But in India, no one sees Buddha as a 'prophet'. Because here Rishis who had insights far better than Jesus or Mohammed are dime a dozen !
Thousands of Rishis reached far deeper levels of insights than Jesus or Mohammed. No one in India calls them as 'Prophets'.
They are called 'self realized ones'. This can be done by any one. In the west, such people with insights were rare because the focus is more outside than inside. Hence they achieved more material knowledge than the Indians.
Those with insights were thus rare in the west. Thus they thought such people are special. Called them prophets and looked at them as messengers from God because they talked in a divine way which was unusual in the west.
No big deal ! You can be a prophet yourself. Just remain ego less and desire free. Watch what happens within you. Simple.
