WE ARE ALL BULBS...
Relax. It is only a comparison. To clarify a point.
Imagine all humans as bulbs in a huge garland of festive lights.
Of various colours, shapes and sizes. Some blinking. Some emitting less light. Some are so bright that the bulbs nearby cannot be even seen.
The power that runs through all bulbs is the same. The power does not discriminate between the bulbs.
But the bulbs are in different states of illumination. Some barely blink. Some are dimly lit, etc, although the invisible power that runs through each of these bulbs is the same through out.
Now look closely at these bulbs.
All bulbs have glass covers coloured or not and a filament inside.
The cover (mind) can be dirty or fudged or clean.
The filament (intellect) can be of various qualities.
When the cover (mind) is clean, the light emitted is brighter.
When the filament (intellect) is sharper (finer) the light emitted is brighter.
Remember... the electricity has nothing to do with the brightness of bulbs. It is the quality of the bulb and the cleanliness of cover that determines the brightness.
Now lets see how to increase the brightness.
The cover (mind) can be cleaned first. Mind gets dirty because of sticky attachments, relationships, desires, feelings. Keep the mind clean. The light emitted through such minds will be brighter.
But still there is a limit. The brightness is emitted from the filament (intellect). The more fine the filament, the brighter the emitted light.
How to improve the quality of the filament (intellect) ?
In the animals, the filaments are the instincts. Therefore animals cannot move beyond their instincts. The typical example is the cat which may catch the passing mouse without even knowing it. There is no dilemma for the cat like "whether to catch the mouse leave the mouse or do something else" LOL ! The instinctive decision is one and final.
However in the humans, the filament (intellect) is not limited by instincts. Even though most live following animal instincts. Major path making and earth shattering decisions are taken simply within the animal instincts. LOL !
But that is not the end. The human intellect has the potential to go beyond the given instincts. By wilfully expanding the mind and sharpening the intellect. This is done by education, studying a language for communication, learning the systems in living things through science, listening to the learned ones, and reading books written by great people. This way the intellect can be sharpened.
An intellect which knows something can express the same to the others the right way, educating the listeners. This is the light of knowledge. The more one knows, the more light s/he can throw.
Therefore refined intellect makes a human more knowledgeable as evidenced in his words and actions.
And then there is a state of ultimate knowledge. That is about oneself. When one gets that knowledge, his intellect is fully refined. he gets en-light-ened. He becomes the inner light of knowledge. the mission of his life is complete. He will bow to all and leave with a smile.
Others with unrefined filaments laugh at the calm guy not interested in women or fancy life and pity him openly..."Poor guy ! Gone out of his mind ! Any way leave him. Lets not waste out time after him ! He is a gone case any way. Had a great future ! All lost in chasing God ! Lets chase our desires ! yummy ! The priest had said if we believe in that prophet we will go to heaven with God after death. This poor guy wasted all life ignoring the priests. What did he get ? All life lost. No wealth made. His fate ! "
This is also light. Dim light emitted by instinct driven minds. In fact darkness emitted at noon.
Now lets proceed to some dramas around the bulbs.
Ordinary bulbs are ignored by most. Even by themselves. There are an ocean of such lights. Who bothers just another bulb ? There are millions in fact billions like that. One gets fused, another is replaced in no time.
But not the brightest bulbs.
The brightest bulbs are adored by the ocean of dim bulbs. The dim bulbs declare the brightest bulbs as their leaders, Gurus, prophets etc.
The brightest bulbs tell them with kindness "Dear dim bulbs ! We sympathise with you ! But do not think we are something special ! We were dim bulbs exactly like you. We cleaned the glass cover and modified the filaments by education, analysis and meditation. Hence we understood everything that we looked at. When we knew all that we wanted to know, The dark areas of the mind were clear. All fears were gone. Everything was clarified. So we sort of emit light to the dark areas of the ignorant minds by answering their doubts"!
"But !" The brightest 'Prophet Bulbs' might continue to say. "You can also become bright like us by simply cleaning the glass (mind) and modifying the filament (intellect). Do not look up on the brighter bulbs with frustration or jealousy or anger or hatred. You can also become brighter, if you care yourself."
Will the dim bulbs understand and follow ?
I will rephrase the question.
Can the dim bulbs modify themselves to match the brightest bulbs? Technically yes. But practically difficult.
Now starts the drama. Just watch closely. Hold your breath !
The dim bulbs hold a meeting. They accept that they can never be as bright as the 'prophet / Guru Bulbs" as it requires sacrifice and dedication. There fore instead of emulating the "prophets bulbs" the dim bulb association arrives at a ground shattering path breaking decision !
That is to declare the brightest Bulb as their leader bulb named as the Prophet or Guru bulb ! And form fans associations. Hailing the chosen bulbs as the best among them ! The fan bulbs make a system to identify those who accept a particular bulb as their leader. They have to rally around the leader bulb in a specific way to identify the fans and enemies.
Enemies for brightest bulbs ? Who ?
Another set of dim wit I mean dim lit bulbs. They have apparently seen another bulb round the corner which to them is brighter than the brightest bulb chosen by the first gang of dim bulbs. So the second gang of bulbs select the other brightest bulb as their leader.
The usual procedures of revering the leader bulb follows. That is another set of rituals. Slightly different from the first gang.
Then another discovery happens ! The brightest bulb, is actually on the other side ! This is even brighter than the two bright bulbs already selected by two opposing gangs and identified by their different rituals of worship. Many dim bulbs can't hold the excitement to see the new bright bulb ! The dim bulbs may jump the fan gangs and run after the most brightest bulb on the other side !
The mess continues.
The brightest bulbs smile at one another and look at the dim bulbs with kindness. The dim lights wont learn ever. Why ? Because they do not want to make an effort like the brightest bulbs also did.
Therefore the dim bulbs remain dim for ever.
Fighting among themselves to catch attention of female bulbs !
Arguing how their leader bulb is brighter than the others.
The brightest bulbs might address the oceans of dim bulbs. the dim bulbs are an excite lot ! Chanting slogans praising their chosen bulbs and applauding themselves for being the wisest to choose the best leader light ! The dim bulbs are now clearly segregated with uniform or colour code, blinking at the same time etc as ways to distinguish between which bulb they regard as the brightest. ...
The brightest bulbs may say ;
"Dear dim bulbs !
Stop haggling about which bulb is brighter.
The brightness is only dependent on the cleanliness of the glass cover and the quality of filament.
Both are free with you modify.
You can adopt a method chosen by any of the brightest glowing bulbs.
To shine as bright as they could.
But before that...
Just look into what makes you glow even dimly !
The invisible Electricity.
The same electricity passes through all bulbs.
No discrimination whatsoever".
Therefore moral of the story is;
It is the electricity that is important. Not the bulbs.
Even if these bulbs shine the brightest, using the electricity the most efficient and optimum way.
